Lincoln County Forestry, Land and Parks Committee August 12 Meeting Notes

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Forestry, Land and Parks Committee met on Monday August 12 at the Lincoln County Service Center.

There were discussions during the meeting regarding the DNR’s position on the Coffee Creek Flowage. DNR Wildlife Biologist Carissa Knab informed the committee that the DNR has evaluated and decided to phase out low priority wildlife flowages over the next several years. The Coffee Creek flowage is considered low priority, and as such will be decommissioned barring Lincoln County or another responsible third party taking over maintenance and management of the flowage. The timeline for the decommissioning will take years, and there will be an opportunity for public input.

The committee is scheduled to meet again on Monday September 9.
